Gordon Campbell Gray – Founder
Gordon founded Campbell GRAY Hotels and was the creative force behind award winning properties such as Le Gray in Beirut, One Aldwych in London, Carlisle Bay in Antigua, The Merchant House in Bahrain and The Machrie Hotel and Golf Links, Islay in Scotland..
He is a trained hotelier and gained his initial experience working in large hotel companies, but always had a desire to focus on the individual hotel sector.
During his twenties he spent several years running Save the Children projects in Bangladesh, Morocco and Nicaragua.
He is a Vice President of Save the Children and an ardent fundraiser for many other charities. He is passionate about the environment, encouraging other hoteliers to do more to take care of our planet.
Gordon’s key roles as an Ambassador for Campbell Gray Hotels means he supports and advises the team as well as being involved with different projects and continues to add his flair for the unexpected and attention to detail, that makes us different from the rest.
Nick joined from Dorchester Collection where he was Area Director of Finance for over 7 years, playing an instrumental role in openings of Coworth Park and 45 Park Lane. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with Maybourne Hotel Group as Director of Finance at both Claridge’s and The Connaught. He joined Campbell GRAY Hotels as Finance Director in November 2015. He is also an active supporter of the Princes Trust charity.
Human Resources Director
After studying clinical and organisational psychology, Daniel went on to hold senior roles in both operations and human resources in some of Venice’s best hotels. He spent 7 years as Area Human Resources Manager for the Hotel Excelsior, Hotel des Bains and Villa Cipriani, overseeing 450 associates. He now oversees all human resources activities for the group.
Simon is a graduate of Thames Valley University and joined the group in 2019 with substantial management experience gained in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, working with companies such as Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotels. He also headed up operations for the Tourism Development & Investment Company in the UAE. Simon provides oversight and supports all our hotels and the operational development of our new properties.
Finance Project Manager
Catherine started her career in London with Intercontinental, before being involved in several high profile openings including Conrad in Chelsea Harbour and The Metropolitan Park Lane. Catherine’s current role covers internal auditing, financial reporting and implementation of all accounting systems.
After completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration, Oliver gained experience working across a wide range of departments in luxury hotels in Europe and the US for Intercontinental and Four Seasons. Oliver joined the pre-opening team at Le Gray, Beirut and works on all of the group’s creative work.
