It all started in 1996 when Gordon Campbell Gray, a hotelier with extensive experience in large hotel companies and a passion for individual hotels, created his first luxury CAMPBELL GRAY HOTEL, One Aldwych, in London. This passion was, for several years after, the creative force behind award-winning properties such as Le Gray in Beirut, One Aldwych in London, Carlisle Bay in Antigua, The Merchant House in Bahrain and The Machrie Hotel and Golf Links, Islay in Scotland.
Turning the passion into a successful business needed a vision and structural components. And this is how CAMPBELL GRAY HOTELS came to be a management company creating, designing and operating highly individual hotels and residences around the world. Our executive team gathers experts with extensive experience in the industry. In addition to being able to utilise essential resources from our affiliate companies, they share the institutional passion and the needed integral vision to attain success.
When the world was brought to a standstill, we took our time to reinvent ourselves, redefine our purpose, rethink our philosophy and reset our strategies to meet the post-pandemic era, keeping in mind the prosperity of our existing hotels and our upcoming properties.
Our journey continues and we shall keep creating, designing and developing unique hotels in unique destinations magnifying their uniqueness.

Nick is a graduate of The University of Surrey and joined CGH in 2015 from Dorchester Collection where he had been Area Director of Finance for 7 years overseeing all finance, purchasing and IT functions at The Dorchester, Coworth Park and 45 Park Lane. Prior to this he had spent 10 years with Maybourne Hotel Group as London Director of Finance for both Claridge’s and The Connaught hotels. In his current role Nick oversees both the strategic and operational financial activity for the company together with supporting its business development.
Human Resources Director
After studying clinical and organisational psychology at the Universities of Malta and ‘La Sapienza’ in Rome, Daniel went on to hold senior roles in both operations and human resources in some of Venice’s best hotels. He spent 7 years as Area Human Resources Manager for the Hotel Excelsior, Hotel des Bains and Villa Cipriani. Having joined CAMPBELL GRAY HOTELS in 2014, he oversees all human resources activities for the group, dedicated at both individuals and organisations working at being the best they can be.
Simon is a graduate of Thames Valley University and joined the group in 2019 with substantial management experience gained in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, working with companies such as Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotels. He also headed up operations for the Tourism Development & Investment Company in the UAE. Simon provides oversight and supports all our hotels and the operational development of our new properties.
Finance project manager
Catherine started her career in London with Intercontinental, before being involved in several high profile openings including Conrad in Chelsea Harbour and The Metropolitan Park Lane. Catherine’s current role covers internal auditing, financial reporting and implementation of all accounting systems.
After completing his MBA in Hospitality & Tourism in Switzerland, Oliver gained experience in luxury hotels in Europe and the US with Intercontinental and Four Seasons. He joined the pre-opening team at Le Gray, Beirut and moved ontoCAMPBELL GRAY HOTELS where he worked on various hotel projects. After many years in development and design, he heads today the group’s creative work.
Rico brings more than 15 years of expertise in hospitality and real estate management. Prior to joining CAMPBELL GRAY HOTELS, Rico was Head of Residential and Extended-Stay Development for Accor in the ME&A region, supporting the global residential team. Rico joined Accor in 2016 as Director of Feasibility with previous experience that included asset management with Seven Tides Hospitality and HVS, where he co-authored multiple publications and administered a wide range of valuation, feasibility, contract negotiation and strategic assignments. Rico is a co-founder and an executive board member of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association for the ME&A. He is a graduate in Hospitality and Business Management from École Hôtelière de Lausanne.
