The city has a bursting calendar of events and festivals, below are just a few of our favourites.
During the summer Lebanon hosts several festivals for lovers of the performing arts in breathtaking archaeological and historical venues across the country. The Baalbeck International Festival takes over the ruins of Heliopolis-Baalbeck, The Beiteddine Art Festival occupies the courtyards of the magical 18th-century Beiteddine Palace and finally the Byblos International Festival.
September, is all about contemporary art. With over 550 pieces of contemporary art at Le Gray, we are big fans and annual fair partners of the ever-growing Beirut Art Fair.
In the autumn, the city hosts the Beirut Marathon. An exciting event with over 60,000 runners, from more than 70 countries, competing.
Every winter, the Al Bustan International Festival brings a rich program of classical music and dancing with a month of concerts and dance performances by artists from the world over. In December, the festive season lights up the city and the Beirut Chants Festival takes over its many churches and cathedrals.
