How to Find Us

Getting to Islay has never been easier !

The Machrie Hotel & Golf Links is located on the Isle of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland and is accessible via ferry or short flight, or some of our guests arrive in their own helicopter, plane or boat

Car & Ferry

Travelling from Glasgow by car, you take the picturesque route through the Mull of Kintyre to Kennacraig which takes about 2½ hours. You leave Kennacraig on a Calmac Ferry to Port Askaig or Port Ellen which takes about 2 hours. If you wish to leave your car in Kennacraig, you can travel as a a foot passenger for less than £7 each way. Complimentary transfers are available from both Islay ferry ports to The Machrie. Bringing you car is less than £35 each way. Advance bookings for your car are advisable. You can book online at www.calmac.co.uk
Calmac also operate a ferry from Islay to Oban on a Wednesday and Saturday.

Linking Islay and to Northern Ireland

Kintyre Express is a fast passenger ferry service that links up Islay and Northern Ireland This service runs from April to September that link Ballycastle on the Antrim Coast and Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay allowing you to play Royal Portrush, Portstewart , Castle Rock, Ballyliffin and explore Northern Ireland.

By air

Loganair manage the Glasgow-Islay service twice daily increasing to 3 times a day from the summer. For information on flight times and to book visit www.loganair.co.uk
